Statement of Faith

Kenosis Effect is organized by many churches with different backgrounds, styles and beliefs, yet we are one body with one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father who is over us all and in us all and living through us all.  However the core of our Faith is summarized in our Statement of Faith.

A Statement of Faith is a written declaration of the church's position on matters that pertain to the essentials of historical Christianity. The following statements comprise Kenosis Effect's Statement of Faith.

DOCTRINAL

We Believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative , inerrant Word of God.(IITimothy 3:15-17, II Peter 1:21) Therefore, our ministry emphasizes the exposition of God's Word from Genesis to Revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept. (Isaiah 28:10)

We Believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)

We Believe in the Deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection(John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father(Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11-16)

We Believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that all are justified on the single basis of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace, through faith alone, are we saved (John 3:16-19, 5:24, Romans 3:23, 5;8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5)

We Believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that he is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. (Romans 8:13-14, I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30, 5:18)

We Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, we further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.(I Corithians 12:4-10)

We Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, that they are saved unto the resurrection of the life, and that they are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:28-29)

We Believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12:12-13, Galations 3:26-28)

We Believe it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism and the regular taking of Communion. We do not believe that either of these practices is essential for salvation, but they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ. (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25,  Luke 22;14-20, I Corinthians 11:23-25, Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:1–8, Colossians 2:12)

PRACTICAL

We Believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's (agape) love, which is greater than differences we possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves as Christians.

We Believe worship of God should be spiritual; therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

We Believe worship of God should be inspirational; therefore, we give great place to music in our worship.

We Believe worship of God should be intelligent; therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon the teaching of the Word of God that He might instruct us on how He should be worshipped. We seek to teach the Word of God in such a way that its message can be applied to the individual's life, leading that person to a greater maturity in Christ. We teach mainly expositional and occassionally topical.

We Believe worship of God should be fruitful; therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have been truly worshiping Him.

We Believe that the church government should be simplistic rather than a complex bureaucracy, and we depend on the Holy Spirit to lead, rather than on fleshly promotion
